2.0 INSTALLATION

Note:Additional information can also be found in the file readme.txt

The RES-REACH-32 Service version installs as an NT service. It has no icon and cannot start from the program manager. If defined as "automatic" it starts by itself when the machine boots up. Otherwise, it can be started manually from the Service Manager or in command line mode in a Command Prompt window.

RES-Reach is installed as an application on the same machine as the Web server. It is called by the server whenever an HTTP request is made for one of its forms.

RES-Reach has two components: REACH (REACH.EXE) and NETBASE (REACH32.EXE). When using a 32-bit Web server that supports CGI (Common Gateway Interface), reach.exe is the 32-bit program that is activated as a CGI script. NETBASE is the larger program that performs the processing of the RES-Reach tags.

Note:To install RES-Reach, the following information is required:

Is is recommended that you make sure that ODBC and the ODBC desktop drivers be installed prior to installing RES-Reach.
