The SAIC https server supports configurable user authentication, using lists determined by the WebMaster. The REACH.EXE program must be placed in the CGI-bin subdirectory of the Web server. SAIC Web servers feature a time limit for CGI script execution. Since RES-Reach imposes its own time limit (60-120 seconds depending on load) before shutting down, setting this limit to 120 seconds ensures that the task will not be canceled without releasing file and record locks.
